Biggest fleet at Bass Week

Stong winds, very competitve and close racing, great company and a good opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones.

Bassenthwaite Week: 1-9 August

Despite being held at the same time as the Nationals, 36 Enterprises from 19 different clubs again formed the largest fleet at Bassenthwaite Week. Most came from clubs in the NE and NW Areas, although some travelled very much further from clubs in the Midlands, Eastern and SE Regions (Tamworth, Ely and Bewl Valley). Racing was extremely competitive in the predominantly strong winds that prevailed for the whole week. Prizes were evenly distributed. Although Steve Blackburn (Pilkington / WLYC) (with a variety of crews) had his best week ever winning 3 trophies.  Other major winners were local sailors Mark Ninnim and Rob Smith, Kevin and Johny Anderson (Derwent RSC), and Peter and Jack Lawson (Bass / Killington).
