Enterprise sailor raising money for brain tumour research

Enterprise Association member Matthew Velamail, 20, of Ulley SC near Rotherham, along with his friend Tim Brownell, also 20, are to take part in an annual West Lancashire Y.C.'s 24 hour race in Southport on 10 and 11 September this year in a bid to raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research.

Tragically, Matt’s inspiration for this race is his own father’s diagnosis in December 2009 with an incurable brain tumour.  Vetri Velamail was a GP for more than 20 years in Rotherham and is the father of two other children, apart from Matt.   Despite undergoing courses of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, Vetri has now come to the end of all available treatment.
